A little birdie hit the pane
And lay on the porch
To move seemed in vain.
No protest he made
As I gathered him near
Although he must have been filled with fear.
I held him close
And stroked his head
Telling him please,don’t be dead.
I felt him move,then move again
I’m thinking for life, he did feel a yen
So I stepped outside
And his mate did call
And he flew away to a tree very tall

A cute little poem with a happy ending. Unfortunately, while many strike my windows thinking they are dealing with another bird that is their reflection, and some shake it off and fly away as though nothing ever happened, a few unfortunate break their necks and become cat or possum food a'fore the next night is over.
I am very touched by this write. My grandchildren and I do a lot of nature walking. Once, we found a fawn stuck by a fallen tree. We all lifted it. It was light enough as it was a dead narrow tree. The fawn scampered away into the forest. I'm sure you had a good feeling inside after what you did. Bravo!
After that sexy title, I'm certain this poem is riddled with code words that conceal secret activities. Especially the last sentence. My cryptologist is going to report back in the morning. :)
