Even the Elephants wear raincoats in NJ…

More rain again right now,

But the weatherman knows not how,

It’s been raining here so long and all night,

That the animal population is taking flight…

The squirrels and tree living creatures,

Are moving their abodes to higher branches,

The birds are flying south, though winter does not approach,

The deer and bears are climbing higher on the hills,

But as usual humans are not worried,

Floating and waiting for us the water to kill…

The ground saturated, no place for water to run off,

Even the roads made of cement are cracking beyond repair,

For the next deluge we humans have to prepare,

Finding ourselves feeling quite bad and in despair…

If you plan on visiting New Jersey in the near future,

Better to bring an inflatable boat, just in case,

For living in NJ or doing business here of late,

You will need a boat of some kind just to find a dry place…
