Poem Artwork

The ocean is a wilderness reaching round the globe, wilder than a Belgian jungle, and fuller of monsters, washing the very wharves of our cities and the gardens of our sea-side residences. Serpents, bears, hyenas, tigers rapidly vanish as civilization advances, but the most populous and civilized city cannot scare a shark far from its wharves.
Quote attributed to Henry David Thoreau;

------------------------------------------

Living for the ocean,

Watching daily her motion,

Rubbing on the sunburn lotion,

Giving her my constant devotion…

I live to be one,

With the ocean as her son,

She does present for all fun,

For me though she can never be outdone…

Happy & content I be,

When around I am of the sea,

My fears and stresses are then quite wee,

No longer must I allow myself to worry…

I am of Mom ocean a very grateful adoptee…

Ed,

Me, too--me, too!!!!!! Oh, you capture the ocean in all her majesty--well done!!!!!!!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Aren't you lucky, to live so close...I have to drive at least four hours south to get to the coast!!!!!!!!!! Can I come visit you? 'Course, that's a longer drive...................but one I'm willing to take, just to see those waves again and jump in!

The saline roar of an ocean splash is a kiss from mother earth.

I love this poem.

I miss living near the Atlantic.

It's funny you should write about the ocean today as I had a dream last night about the very same thing...though in mine a big shark had reared up before me while I was swimming, and I saw he had your face!...I certainly love your Ocean writes, my friend...and maybe someday soon my critters and I will visit with you in person and stroll that beloved beach of yours with you and Rufuz...Brother Ed & Critters
