Flooded streets,
Amusements crushed & twisted,
Roller coaster in the sea,
But nothing personal to me…
Subways flooded,
Power to millions interrupted,
Fuel spills toxic,
Lives of humanity disrupted…
Homes washed into the sea,
Whole towns underwater,
Fire departments using boats,
Dragged from moorings, docks that float,
Making millions flee,
This just part or parcel,
Of the legacy that was Hurricane Sandy…
now a time to rebuild again

The edge of the continent by the sea is constantly changing. Anyone who would build or live in this edge would have to expect, from time to time, that the sea would rise up and claim the shore. I guess that's why you are 30 miles from the coast and were saved the brunt of the storm.
Stay safe and warm as the winter approaches.

My love and peace goes out to all that have been without power and live somewhere other than their own home...
