... how can I complain of the storms that have been terrorizing my little corner of the world when so many others have it worse? Entire towns gone in a mad rush of wind; record flooding in the Midwest; drought and fires scorching the ground that could use the rain. I have been selfish. When storms are spinning overhead, I just want them to go away, not thinking of where they might go, what harm they may cause down the road. Talk about selfish. I have been blessed, according to the news reports I am reading about the storms (or lack of them) striking other areas of the country. I'll take my little storms and enjoy them for what they are: God's display of His power ...
I dont think you are selfish, you are dealing with alot of stress, I pray the storms ease up, keep writing and be blessed

I don't look at it for being selfish. They were your thoughts and how you dealt with the stress. As you know others will now deal with theirs. Nature needs no rhyme or reason. I'm glad we live in an age where we have at least some warnings and clues as what to do. Lady J

I could never view you as a selfish person. Each and every one of us has our own hopes and fears. I pray now that the Love of our Creator will help you to overcome any fears you may have.
Karla, I have been extremely lucky; having survivied floods, earthquakes, tonadoes, blinding white outs during snow storms and anymore I just consider one more day being able to see the sun rise is a gift I don't deserve but welcome. Thanks for the good pen.
Karla, this write touched me today; yes, sometimes we wish things to be in a different manner, not realizing the consequences in other areas. I'm proud to read this today because it shows your inner thoughts and concerns for others. This is a tremendous read!
Wonderful write and no you are not selfish for as sure as God created the storms he also created in us the abitlity to respect and even fear the power of the weather when unleashed.

I love these lines. Isn't it natural to want to be out of danger? I think it's hard to think of others in the moment we feel so threatened ourselves.
