Reminiscing about the cruise I took three years ago - has it been that long?? Think another is long overdue -

Love your slice of a sand piper's life, and I love that pic. The pic takes me back to one of my favorite times in life -- out at sea in the Navy. When I was off-duty, I could be found up on deck, either back on the fantail musing with Mother Ocean in all of her deep-sea moods, or up in the bow when She was stormy. There is nothing like the feel of gripping the bow as a big ship crashes through Her stormy tirades! Speaking of sand-pipers, you gotta love the way they glide in and touch down for a quick running food-grab between waves, especially just before full low tide.
BTW, concerning what Karen mentioned: An Alaska cruise right now will gift you (both) with the massive array of ice-bergs which are spawning from the Arctic melt-down. Simply awesome, and a bit heart-breaking at the same time. Do it now before this is history. Several weeks ago, on NPR, Arctic scientists were saying that the average depth of the Arctic ice-cap is now reduced to only three feet. It is going away. Fjords are jammed with twice as many ice-bergs as this time last year. It would be a mistake to wait until next year to take that cruise. I wish I could go, too.
Been that long already since your cruise?? My, how time does fly by! Me thinks you're due for another one--way past due! (Only this time, DON'T leave me behind!! LOL) Let's say if we get an unexpected windfall, we take a cruise to Alaska! Sound good?? It does to meeeeeeee!~ LOL Very well penned; brava!
