Two minute poem. =]

Image (c) 2009, Karla Dorman

Poem Artwork

The sky filled with fire tonight:  vivid
red, orange, yellow flames of cloud
raged against an ashen sky before
the night reluctantly put them out.
All the fire department could do was
sit by and watch as it burned itself
into our collective memories ...
this will be one to remember.

The picture -- the poem -- paints a vivid image! Just shows how the shortest of poems can be the best! Susan W.

As one living in Southern California, the sight of the fire red sky, even living twenty miles from the fire, my car covered in ash, your words and picture recall fearful memories of many past fires.

I bet you took that picture just as St. Peter spilled his wine glass all over the sky. I think he is getting too old.
