Poem Artwork

Darkness, invisible -- whitewashed
pale, illuminated from without and
within for a brief, intense moment
before shrouding itself back into
secrecy.  Another burst -- a storm
approaches from the west; thunder
rolls.  And I, under, watch the drama
unfolding overhead:  night light[ning].

The picture and poem are a perfect match, although the prose gives off as much imagery as the picture. Nicely done!! I love to sleep during wild thunderstorms--the wilder the better, unless it knocks out power and I lose A/C!

Karla this scares me, here we don't have storms, we have typhoons!
Your writing about it calms the fear...I'll be under the bed too.

Me thinks that this type of nightlight is not so comforting...although it can be beautiful and amazing to watch.
