A fairy tale, coming to life out there. Wow. Is it ever WINdy! Sustained 35, gusting 50.

Poem Artwork

forward motion, stopped, except for
the trees.  they're writhing under the
onslaught of wind, twisting this way
and that.  the walls are shuddering,
cracking in pain, and i, within, tremble
as well, wondering if they'll hold, they,
and the roof --- pray so.  sounds like
it will pop off any second now --- how
long will the electricity stay on?  not
long, if it keeps howling like it is --- a
wolf at the door.  now i know how the
three pigs felt in their flimsy shelters ...

I really like the comparisons in this poem, Karla. You have me feeling this nervous moment. Hugs,

Perfect. 'Or I'll Huff and I'll Puff' clearly shows who the master is and that's Mother Nature. Humans bulldoze mountains, build cities, lace the land with ribbons of highways and rail but they cower when Mother Nature grumbles. All it would take is one huge volcanic eruption to send modern civilization back to the caves or to send mankind the way of the dinosaurs. The earth wouldn't care. She would start to mend and the survivers, which could be plant, insect or animal, would move on.

Karla, no matter what you write, you do it well, but I have to say that your nature writes are my favorite...and this is no exception. Wind and cold rain have never been my favorite things....but give me a warm ocean breeze any day!

Mother Nature on another rampage; seems like an all too familiar scenario, today.

Sustained 35, Gust 50, if you sit on a swing you will be the perfect pendulum, and for a Storm Spinner that will be like rocking with the clouds!
I will say...you are already and angel.

I love listening to the wind blow around my camper, even though the whole thing moves...but with regards power outages, I am self-contained with a generator to back me up as long as the fuel holds out...Ed (even if I had a house or an apartment I would have at least a small generator)

Days like these are nerve wracking nights can be real nightmares and when the power goes off there is often such a sense of being under siege. Well done Karla,

Great title....and great lines within the theme.... We've had alot of strong wind here lately too ... ????? We had 40 mph the other nite, and then the following nite 50 mph....that's HEAVY.... and we had to remove all the windchimes and patio and deck furn/cushions, etc... I love the excitement of the weather tho... even tho it is scary at times... another good work my friend... hugs, lindalaw

when nature beckons with force, we all suffer the same vulnerability the three little pigs were subjected to -- wind, has always been my nemesis -- even though I realize we could not exist without the effects of the wind -- a very interesting perspective Karla -- hold on tight, don't let go -- peace and love -- Jon Michael

Hi Karla, I have never liked the wind. Give me thunder, lightening, rain.. but the wind is eerie to me. A breeze, I don't mind. You write it like I feel when the wind takes it's turn...

Bear
