"Rain Drops"
By Amber "V" Moonstone
March 16, 2009
Soil once fertile, now frozen,
loneliness remains ever present,
while rain falls slowly down.
Sunshine washed away
as the rain pours downward
filling me with sadness.
Raindrops heard on window panes
reminding me of endless nights,
spent waiting by the doorway.
You were always late,
silently slipping into the shadows
carelessly ignoring my need for you.
Tenderness washed away
as each raindrop pitters and patters
within the echoes of my mind.
Your need for outside pleasure
drove your spirit toward forbidden fruit,
while the rain flooded my heart.
Now after many years of emptiness
You find yourself wondering why,
I have paddled upstream leaving you,
alone to hear unsettling raindrops
dripping agonizing acid of lost
teardrops flowing over your guilty heart.
Once again, the rain falls,
but this time, leaving me with cleansing
drops of renewal and rebirth.
Paddling toward a brighter day,
finding refuge in solitude and happiness
knowing that life does rain drops of
Golden Sunshine!
