Blazin' Trails

Spent the weekend up north on a cousin's farm, four wheeling during peak colors, it took my breath away; one day we rode in Paul Bunyan's forrest (Akeley Minnesota) and look who swept me off my feet :)

Poem Artwork

Blazin' Trails

Straddled, leather, goggles in place,
Hair whipping across my face,
Through pastures, down steep banks,
Up hills, along rivers and lakes.

Leaves drip of burgundy wine,
Lemon drops fall from vines,
Trees dressed in vibrant red rose.
Scented pines, stimulate the nose.

Five machines pulled up to the diner,
Had a mug of hot apple cider,
Then it was back on the blazin' trail,
Riding in freedom, with wind's tail.

SOUNDS WONDERFUL!!! I KNOW THESE ARE MEMORIES THAT WILL LAST FOREVER. THE JOY OF ENJOYING NATURE AT ITS BEST IS DESCRIBED EXCELLENTLY WITH PHRASES, IMAGERY AND RHYME SCHEME THAT SUPPORTS ITS THEME TO A 'TEE'...I LOVE IT! THANKS FOR SHARING AND GOD BLESS.

How absolutely wonderful you express this tale and Minnesota is beautiful country, land of ten thousand lakes! A number of years ago I lived in North Mankato and loved every minute of it...

Be always safe,
Karen

I love this as I remember the sleigh rides would do with the children when they were younger on Boxing day, the snowflakes were usualyy very large and I would take hot chocolate and blankets with us. Great memories. Thank you for sharing Christine.

I love it. Up until a few years ago I had a camp in the mountains and my own four wheeler which I would spend hours on exploring the back woods...oh how I miss that and envy you Christine such a great weekend. Thank you though for bringing back some great memories.

Any horse with respect will frown at its rider wearing goggles, tears by the wind on a blazing trail are like salt in the chow wagon.
Nice to ride on the wind's tail...

Dear Christine this is a beautiful poem you have created here. It reminds me when I was 16, on the farm in south of France, but the colorful foliage was missing. It was a great pleasure. Love Emile
