There was a young lady named Jill
She once did not take her pill
Jack started to shout
Began pacing about
Then he built Jill a house on the hill There was a young fellow named Jack
He carried a pack on his back
In the pack he carried
The girl he’d married
On a hill he built Jill a shack
I once met a gal named Mary
Her legs were muscled and hairy
She went into town
Bought a wedding gown
I ran off and did not tarry
There once was a man from the ridge
He wanted to jump off a bridge
He was sleepwalking
I did some sweet talking
He woke up and went to the fridge
There once was a lady named June
She always sang out of tune
She joined a choir
Things got most dire
Every dog now bayed at the moon
I had an employee named Manny
He worked a lot less than Granny
He just watched the clock
He had quite a shock
When Granny tossed him out on his fanny
There once was a fellow named Sam
He lived on top of a dam
He went over the side
Went for quite a ride
He wound up in South Vietnam
I met a young lady from York
She said she was married to Mork
I thought she was Mindy
She said, I am Cindy
Mindy left Mork because he’s a dork
LOL!

you have become quite the man of very entertaining limericks Reg -- I thoroughly enjoyed these latest offerings -- but, Manny, grabs my vote as a favorite -- granny fixed his aversion to work, I would imagine -- may peace, joy and the light of love be with you -- JMW
Hi, I'm Mary and I've caught up with you at last!!!!!!!!!!! :)) xx
Great fun, Regis, and try as I might I just cannot do these!!! But your race-along lines here always inspire me to try... and make me smile! For that, I'm as ever grateful! xxx
Ha ha ha! Limericks can be taken for granted, but they are so funny.
Humor in poetry should be encouraged. The mandarins who dictate taste and fashion say rhyming is out; they won't publish rhyming work, and as for humor, don't you know poetry is deadly serious and profound?
Fun stuff, Regis! I so agree: Mork was a dork...cool memories, though. We could use some fun TV shows. Keep them coming, if you like...enjoying the limerick trip...
Needing a good laugh today. Did not know what I'd laugh at when I pulled up your limericks. They are great and so educational and exciting. Love that photo of Jill? Is it really Jill? Sounds like you are restling with the ladies now to find a good one.
lol. I remember Mork & Mindy. That's when I became a Robin Williams fan. I liked this bunch slightly more than the previous ones. Though, they were all fun to read. Love and Hugs,
Sheila
Hey, Regis, these seem so different from your usual style. I've always loved limericks, so I was glad to see them.
My favorites are the sleepwalker and the Mork and Mindy.
A good winter pastime!
Connie
Thanks for the Limericks bwana Reg, but a telephone number of one of the maidens (not the one with hairy legs, please) would have make me more than happy! :-) LOL
A naïve councilman and a down-on-her-luck single mom try to save their county’s last stand of forest from greedy developers and a dysfunctional government.

With whose poetry he would beseech us,
He wrote quite well,
But you could tell,
There was only so much he could teach us!
