Limericks V
 
 
There once was a lass named Bo Peep
She had a large flock of sheep
She wanted to count them
But there lay the problem
She kept on falling asleep
 
There once was a man from Yale
He owned a very large whale
One day on a whim
The whale swallowed him
Then spat him out because he was stale
 
There once was a fellow named Chuck
He really did give a duck
At Christmas to the poor
He set it at their door
As he wished all of them good luck
 
A monkey in Kalamazoo
Managed to escape from the zoo
So glad to be free
From the top of a tree
He was heard playing the kazoo
 
One day at the edge of the dawn,
I saw a fawn on the lawn.
I called out to Claire
Who commented with flair,
"To the fawn on the lawn I am drawn!"
 
There once was a mad hatter
Who filled his hats with batter
When asked why he said
They must be well fed
If I’m ever to get them fatter
 
This fellow I know named Rocky
Had a strong urge to play hockey
But he cannot skate
It’s not part of his fate
So he has become a disc jockey

YOU are so DAMN GOOD at these Reg!
I can see a child/even a teen, reading these to MOM and DAD (through a book on a long trip, and making "others" SMILE!
How are bout it my friend,I would buy IT!/THEM!
Bopeep, sheep, asleep, and counting, to put it all together so easily, is magic to me.
The man from Whales, Etc. YOu spin such a good yarn! I enjoy!

That second one is great-you really should put these together. Books like this are in the humor sections of bookstores, just where yours could be if you collected them.

Those are really a riot, Regis. The only guy I ever knew personally who went to Yale was kind of stale, too, so I empathize with the whale, and, as a matter of fact, with anyone who ever had a sheep farmer's daughter as a girlfriend as per your BoPeep. Could you ever do a limerick that would rhyme in both French and English. That would seem a challenge for the dual language structure of your mind................Jerry

these are contagious good fun, Regis, and once you start reading them it's difficult to shift the rhythm which must be attuned to some feel-good wavelength! Another good stack of these, and I love Belle's contribution as well. Looking forward to Limericks VI. Kate xx

Regis, I nearly couldn't read past the first one, I tried to count the sheep in the picture and kept falling asleep, then I gave up (counting) and had the delight of red all.

Hi Regis, You are so good at these and I enjoy them so much! I have such a hard time writing Limericks, the Memory one being the only one that I've ever finished. One other one I've put on the back burner, just don't understand why the Limerick form is so difficult for me. Thankfully we have you to fill this gap for those who love limericks but can't write them... all my respects to you, Sir...
