More limerick silliness... ...dedicated to my friend LeeBee.

Poem Artwork

Limericks XIII

There once was a raccoon named Boone
He really could play a fine tune
On the banjo and guitar
The cello and sitar
He would make all the fine ladies swoon

There’s a dentist in town that’s clueless
In fact he is rather quite ruthless
His patients are scared
And those who have dared
Would much rather have been quite toothless

There once was a crafty old fox
He lived in a large cardboard box
He blended quite well
As a ne’er-do-well
He came from the school of hard knocks

There once was a lady from Spain
Who found joy in being in pain
She loved to be whipped
As her hair was clipped
Not once was she heard to complain

There once was a mover and shaker
He decided to become a baker
He was quite a prude
And so not to be rude
He covered his buns with paper

There once was a teacher of math
Sadly he did not take a bath
His students were pained
But they never complained
They were afraid to incur his wrath

There once was a mad apple picker
He drank a little too much liquor
He fell off his ladder
This just made him madder
Now all he does is bicker

A lad from Tibet named Zack
Wagered me he could ride his yak
He did try indeed
But he did not succeed
Hence the yak in the pack on my back

Katie wanted a rock and roll band
She realized she must sell her land
This she did pronto
To move to Toronto
Now her band is the most in demand

I’ve just met a dolly named Holly
She can easily drive one to folly
She’s vivacious and wise
She will tell you no lies
Yes by golly that Holly’s a dolly

Regis you are very good with rhyme. More excellent limericks. I did write the one but I prefer to write free verse. My rhyming sounds forced more often than not. You have a great talent.

Bravo, Dr. Regis Limerick!

I have a friend named Holly -- who doesn't? ha! -- and I'd like to share your last limerick here with her hubby.

Keep us grinning, chuckling, and laughing. "A merry heart," wrote King Solomon, "does good like a medicine."

There once was a fella named Reg
The limerick he never would hedge
Bet he'd make a good drummer
Or a Rock 'n Roll strummer
He doesn't mind walking the ledge

An evening with Regis. Have you ever thought of going to the pub in Limerick on the annual limerick poetry day. I tink you'd enjoy it, dat is to be sure. I know they'd enjoy having you, just don't go on the lynching night, oh no that's us English that have to miss that small pleasure.
