Bratster Bleakstrom's Vigil

Now for something weird and different... ...I think it was inspired by Lewis Carroll's "Jabberwocky."

Poem Artwork

Bratster Bleakstrom's Vigil

It's a bratsterly day in the flabberwoods
And the guirdioles are flinging in the tweels
The sighs are blue and white above the greever
Floathing swisherly like to the farrier ospean
The Gleegirl Queen is in obstential respose from this domerain
And the eerier's faeel is out of sequential forade
It echoes depthly in sorrowing abounding solstice
It shall be so until she returns to this lairiade of flux
So starkly dark are the blammerchops emerging
From depths of earlier miets and caleps of unknown
Oh friendsome bratser thou canst stop the brooming slide
Slither from the hilliwick it will and swallow all the here
And now until the Gleegirl Queen returns to take her shrone
We must imbade and givilantly be the peekers of this gladezone.

When I read this poem it seems like I am reading a foreign language. A lot of the words are unfamiliar to me, ones I've never heard of before, and when I look them up in the dictionary online no such words exist. Is there something that I am missing here perhaps.

Respose, bratsterly, imbade, bratser, givilantly, domerian are just some of the words that I've never heard of before and the dictionary doesn't find...

Because of all this I don't really understand this poem and what it is about.

I absolutely love this wonderfully Jabberwocky-esque creation. That was my favourite poem in college and this is easily as much fun.

Fabulous!

Weirdly creative. I love the word blammerchops. I was in the supermarket on Sunday and had to endure two bratsters screaming at their flabberwood mum. Patrick

Exploring new strata of language:) It starts off playfully, but soon travels into a nostalgic melancholia, ending in a note that evokes the sensation of sadness. It is remarkable that an abstract poem can produce clearly recognisable moods.

HAHA, love the nonsensical idea. You could write anything and still get the same ole reviews, bar those who read the poem. On one site, they questioned its members. Under 20% read the poems in full.

This sonnet makes me relate more to Tolkien than Lewis. It his kinda Hobbit feel song feel, when Bilbo is in the forest.
