Putting some bounce into life!
Me And Pepe!
I was just thinking, so I was, of this big beautiful collage called ‘Life’. I can’t get it to stand still long enough to get a really good look at it – to really appreciate everything, and to take a really good picture. Because, no matter how well I think I am observing, I miss so much. I don’t mean to be thoughtless or insensitive, it’s just that while I am looking outward, there are so many elements looking back at me, deserving attention. I can’t say – hold it a minute, Don’t go away - I’ll be right with you! Nor can I say – Please Don’t move - hold that smile while I change the batteries in my camera. And when I am busily side-tracking all over the place, looking for my elusive batteries, I tend to get totally disoriented. Just in the last five minutes, I’ve totally ignored a beautiful cool breeze that came through the window and tugged on my hair, and the sound of a persistent but beautiful bird in the lilac bush (a yellow one, I think), that thinks he’s Pavarotti. Oh no! Someone’s over there cleaning her windows! Why did she have to do that right where I could see her? Still, she is part of the collage – I just have to remember that I don’t have to produce any knock-offs of that part of the painting, at least not today. There is a family of no less than 6 squirrels out there, playing a game of chase all over a huge maple tree – a few of them are taking the ‘leap’ challenge to the neighbouring tree – it’s quite a circus! Actually, time seems to be on standstill, or rewind, for that crew, as they circle back around and around – I could probably get individual and group photos with no trouble. And there’s a pretty red one out there bounding from roof-top to roof-top – He reminds me of that Loony Toons character, ‘Pepe Le Pew’!
The biggest culprit in clouding up my lens is worry; It’s not even real or available for a picture, and yet it really clouds up the picture – Focus, Edie – and re-focus – and while you’re at it, take out a cloth and really make that lens sparkle! That’s better – I’m off to bound a little myself – me and Pepe!
