Knitting Thoughts

We are all part of a wonderful blanket called life - knit together in amazing colours and textures - each one essential in creating the unique pattern that resides in each of us.
Knitting Thoughts!
I was thinking this morning at 3 a.m. again! - of how our lives are intertwined like the stitches in a beautiful blanket; each one adding a one-of-a-kind colour and weight. Some of those stitches are part of the foundation of our lives; others are beautiful additions that come in and out, but are essential in determining the final outcome. They all have the potential to make us smile and warm our lives as we knit away. Some of the stitches we carelessly drop and we realize how important it is to pay attention and value those colours. At times, we find ourselves rows ahead of where we should be and realize that we are creating a totally different pattern than the one in our original plan and maybe thats where we were supposed to be heading all along. As long as our foundation row is secure, and we handle it with respect, it will provide the basic direction and encourage us as we watch our beautiful blanket unfold, covering us and those we share it with, in loving stitches.
In the midst of all of this deep-knitted thinking, out popped an image of Jeff Foxworthy Did I drop a mental stitch, or could he be a closet knitter Who knew?!

... You might be a knitter.
If you stare at sweaters in clothing stores and shout: I can make that myself!
.....You might be a knitter.
If you believe that a full length gown made out of afghan squares is a fashion statement
... You might be a knitter.
If you can hardly wait to wrap the trees in your front yard with lovely long scarves
You might be a knitter.
If you have a wonderful group of friends that encourage your every stitch
You are one lucky knitter!
