Reflection of You 7/19/2016 8:03:11 AM
Your writing should be a reflection of you. How do you speak? How would you sit down and tell a story? What words would you use? So now, instead of seeing yourself in front of a group of people, imagine your computer is your audience. Your writing should be a reflection of you. How do you speak? As you type, let your writing unfold as if you were actually speaking. So many times we’ll look at the work of another author and think that we like that style of writing. And it probably is an excellent and entertaining book. But it is based on that person’s own way of doing things and perhaps on experiences they had but you did not. So, if you’re sitting there and thinking that you like the way somebody else does things then it may not flow for you. You sit there and then get frustrated. And then what happens next? You walk away and turn on the TV.
Though while there’s a lot of good stuff to watch on television that’s not going to get your next book published.
