It’s In the Music 7/19/2016 8:06:02 AM
Sometimes it can be difficult to keep writing. Ideas don’t come or we just don’t make the time to sit down and get our thoughts together. So we keep pushing it aside saying we’ll get to it but the truth is that we need some inspiration. Sometimes it can be difficult to keep writing. Ideas don’t come or we just don’t make the time to sit down and get our thoughts together. So we keep pushing it aside saying we’ll get to it but the truth is that we need some inspiration.
I find I get a lot of inspiration from music. When I put my favorite kinds of music on in the background it often brings back memories and from those memories thoughts start to come. Maybe my thoughts will go back to a certain place, or time, or person- and from there a storyline starts to build. Music can also be relaxing, and from that relaxed state ideas can flow. I often like to listen to piano music, for example, because that kind of music seems to give me the extra lift I need to sit down and get to work.
Is there a type of music you like that can put you in a more open frame of mind where your ideas can flow? Is there a type of music that makes you happy and makes you remember pleasant times? There could be a storyline there for you.
Experiment with music and see if it doesn’t help enhance your writing.
