So, you’ve written a book. Good for you. Now you’ve one a few books fairs and perhaps spoke at a few book clubs. Again, very good for you. So, you’ve written a book. Good for you. Now you’ve one a few books fairs and perhaps spoke at a few book clubs. Again, very good for you.
But do you carry business cards with you and work in the fact that you wrote a book into the conversation when you can? Do you have your business cards in your pocket ready to give out when you shake someone’s hand for the first time?
Well-made business cards that attract attention are a must. When you give one out just say something like “Here’s a book mark for you.” Now you can let them know that you wrote a book and they should check it out. That’s all- short and sweet. And you will be surprised to know that many of the people you meet will actually check out your book. And if they don’t, well, they don’t. They might just give the car to a friend of theirs who likes to read more than they do.
Networking is so important. You never know who you might meet. And the next person you meet just may be the one that helps you on your journey to the next step.
