Sometimes we might look at other authors and the way they work. And when we do, sometimes we think to ourselves “Should I be marketing this way?” or “Should I be writing in this style or about these topics?” Sometimes we might look at other authors and the way they work. And when we do, sometimes we think to ourselves “Should I be marketing this way?” or “Should I be writing in this style or about these topics?”
You know, we should look at what other writers are doing because perhaps some of the things might work for us as well and be a benefit. If you can look at these things objectively and take away from them what you feel you need to improve then that’s great.
But if you look at other writers, if what you’re looking at doesn’t resound with you then leave it there- it was not meant to be incorporated into your style of writing.
Be true to what makes you feel good when you write. That good feeling will translate into what you write and light it up for the world to enjoy.
