Blogs by Robert H Drews That Crappy First Draft 5/11/2021 8:46:39 AMA friend and fellow tutor advises writing students struggling with their work to just get something down on paper and to not worry about that crappy first draft (actually, she uses another word that I have paraphrased in the interest of cleaner language on social media.) I have embraced her ideas in my own writing, to just get down my thoughts and notes and worry about cleaning it up and making sense of it later. And she's right about the status of that first draft. Sometimes I look at it and wonder how I ever could have written some of the stuff. And by the time I am done, always with the guidance of the Holy Spirit and His inspiration, I am pleased with how it came out. That is what I have done with this blog--aside from punctuation and spelling I have not changed a thing that I wrote.
