A pair of finches decided that the inside of my backyard light fixture would make a fine nursery. Who am I to argue?

Poem Artwork

OK, I’m missing some feathers

I’m working on getting strong

Mom & Dad keep stuffing me

While I sing my feed me song

I love my light fixture condo

It’s like a room with a special view

I can hardly wait to spread my wings

And soar away like birdies do

In the meantime I’ll be patient

The man inside keeps watching me

I think he wants to feed me pizza

But his dogs say that can’t be

Pat,
You bring even the simplest of your daily experiences to life for me. Some how they even seems to creep into my own personal psyche - like something that I had a smile with before. A special talent that I am very happy that you pursued. Thank you buddy!

Adorable poem and picture, Patrick; very well done! (At the local hospital, in the lobby, they have birds from around the world, including long-tailed finches from NW Australia; they are the cutest little things! Every time we go there to shelter from storms, we always have to see the birds; they are so entertaining!)

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Texas, Karen Lynn. :D

A light fixture Condo sounds like a marvelous abode for an Inch of Finch!

I have a pair of morning doves that make a nest in my rear patio eaves... Of course I'm not too sure if they're the same doves but each year they, or their relatives are back.

No, you have to save the crusts for the dog...so don't feed the birds...thats why you never see a fat bird, they never eat pizza crusts...e
