Ode To A Rock

It is a bit unusual to do an ode to an inanimate object but who said I was usual. It is really about a rock. This huge rock, in my yard, kept getting bigger every year. It gave everyone the appearance that it was growing. The roots of a tree had wrapped themselves around it and was slowly lifting it out of the ground. When it was completely above the ground it fell away from the tree and still sits there to this day as a reminder that there is life in everything.

What brought you to existence?
You show ever,
as always were.
I say never,
as forever could be.

If forever is,
then you are.
If forever isn't,
then you are not.

You couldn't possibly
have always been.
For to always be
is not for us, you see.

If we could see, then
we would not wonder
from where you are.

If you are, then you
had to come from
somewhere.

If you look outside I'll bet the rock was 'moved' by your ode to it ;)!
Good job!

Interesting thoughts to ponder on. It would of been great seeing the changes in that rock as the tree brought it fully into view. Interesting that an act of nature showed the gift of life so well.
