New Rains

The rains are here
Making me happy
Within me, my heart cheers
Beyond the gray mist
In the wet air
Out of my sight
Deep in the swamp
New lives is thriving
They'll be prey for others
If not they survive.

Presently the air is silent
Except
For the rain drops
That disappear in the puddles
Rivers and lakes
They adorn the wetlands
I sit here waiting for nightfall
With anticipation
Of the orchestrated symphony
That awaits me.

Sounds of frogs and crickets
Hoots of preying fowls
Wadding birds on the prowl
Searching for prey
Others not afriad
Twigs snap on forest ground
From slithering creatures
traveling 'neath rotting foliage
From Falls past.

Cleans all, my beautiful rain
As I watch your waters
Running down hill drains
Enjoying the serenest
Of your all so familiar
Musical movements
Rippling down rocky creeks
Rain, rain stay a while
Cleans the lovely visions
Before me in style.

One not only reads your words, William, they fully immerse themselves in imagery; they see/smell/feel/hear the rain. One of your best, saving this one. Thank you!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Yes, I also find the rain and the sound of water to be a sort of balm for my soul. Very nice, William.

What an excellent perspective on rain as beauty instead of miserable. I like the rain also. I especially like thunderstorms.

This is an enjoyable feast of imagery and rhythm.

Excellent, William!! I love the rain, too, although only in balance with nice days. (:D Your rain makes the music, cleans the world, and feeds life. A lovely write; paints a vivid image. Well done.
Peace.

Beautiful and intense images give the reader a vivid slide show of the place you describe. Wonderful and soothing poetry and a reminder that nature continues to evolve.
Take care,
