When an unknown gunman fires a single shot from his AK-47 rifle he will receive back five mortar shells. And the sad part of the story is that the offender escapes but the rockets land on people who are peacefully sleeping in their houses. We are all guilt of crimes committed by others. If we ask why are we subjected to such kind of horror, the answer is “Tell us those who are attacking the government”. What does a mother who has no food or shelter or anything to give her sick baby know about rag-tag militia shelling government bases? This is the reality of the situation in which we are living. Thanks for all the support you are giving us as poets and writers of the world. When cowards are fighting the poor and vulnerable communities perish in the tune of thousands.

That bright shining ball
Swimming in the night
As red as a fire ember
Perforating into dark
Heading to nowhere
Looking for somewhere
Is a mortar rocket
Launched by the wicked
To kill the double wicked
But lands on a poor family
Sleeping inside their shack
Away in their subconscious mind
Dreaming of peace dawning in Somalia
But received rockets descending on them

OH Lord
May peace ever touch this nation
May sanity ever return to Somalia?

Abdi-Noor, your talented pen portrays such horrid, brutal reality, expertly and compassionately! You write:

"OH Lord
May peace ever touch this nation
May sanity ever return to Somalia?"

I pray it will! And I pray that peace and sanity bless mankind soon, lest we annihilate ourselves and our planet!

Amen, (((Abdi-Noor))), an effectively powerful cry for peace. I join you in prayer and pray it is answered soon.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla. :(

That's war. It is the innocent who suffers. Victor

As always, Abdi-Noor, the senselessness of this world tempts me to despair. I believe God is suffering with those who suffer; the proud, the bigoted, the hateful, the greedy are those without God. May God's peace lead you, my friend, and may we all show our humanity to help Somalia through this time of horror.

Tell me, my friend, what I (we) can do to show the 'Christian' world cares about our Muslim friends, brothers, sisters...

Peace and protection on you and all your people.

Fergus

Your journal on war is getting thicker... I hope that one day You can write a journal on the gifts of peace, humanity and the happiness of the people of Somalia.

"May Peace Ever Touch Us"...

I salute You, Poet.
