Embraced by the sentinel of the night,
Lord of the howl,
earth cries without shame.
Echoes resound, bounce, in the wilderness
soothing the dead . . .
quaking all the living.
Compelling eyes exquisitely,
in joyous love, lock . . .
completely mesmerizing.
Twilight watchers see their dance of delight--
so natural--
that the moon's enchanted.
Entranced by the lone wolf's steady, still stare.
Who wouldn't fall
for nature's magnificent
creature quite wild,
the lone sentinel?
"lord of the howl" wonderful tribute to the wolf...one of nature's most lovely creatures. i used to have a part chow/wolf...best dog i ever had. whoever had him before me abused him...i was able to show him love, and he trusted me implicitly...sultan, i miss you (died 12 years ago). :( thanks for sharing this and allowing me to remember this gentle, gentle dog...(((HUGS))) and love, karla. :(
