One morning my grandson made coffee.
Served me in my bed, then said, "Oh, gee!"
As every morning, I took a big gulp.
I almost spit it back in my cup.
The brew he brought was horrid coffee
yet he stood with a smile ear-to-ear.
It was a sweet gesture, one so dear
that I had no choice but to drink it.
I nearly choked, croaked, on that coffee
that my little darling made for me.
I nearly finished when I did see
little green men swimming in its' sea.
"Hon, why are soldiers in my coffee?"
Grandma, don't you ever watch T.V.?"
It says the best thing ev'ry morning
is having soldiers in your coffee!
They're clean but were muddy yesterday."
