Glistening, slippery dewdrops
Cling to silvery, silken spots
Dangling beneath the willow tree
A fragile, translucent beauty
Whispering wind weaves through the web
Eight legs with hooked claws grasp the thread
Seeking sweet delights through the night
Foraging . . . caught in the twilight
Unable to pull themselves free
He feasts on a humbled bee
'twas a wee one from a swarm
A fantastic idea was formed
The creature, seeking some honey,
spread his spinning . . . long and filmy
over a hive of honey bees
Gently swaying in every breeze
Blown deep inside of the dark hive
He wallowed in sweetness inside
Until the hive chose to divide
Wistfully he crept in a house
till they vacuumed under the bed
he should've stayed outside instead.
