Armadillo,
little armored man,
robbing new graves …
(nosing for ants). Scram!
Incessantly
snorting though you’re deaf,
to crash about
like rocks over cliffs.
Clumsy, ugly,
gulp air to forge streams
for six minutes.
You see ants in dreams.
Ancient age beast,
western pioneer,
curls for protection,
stands on hind legs, rears.
Go search, forage,
for bugs … delicious.
Your hard body
has much to teach us …
Armadillo,
little armored man.
