A Hand

'Twas a dark, stormy night,
drenching rain, flashing light,
and thunder roared deeply.
Highway bound, car broke down,
a lone man trudged to town.
The winds ripped mightily.
Slowly a car came by,
he jumped in, gave a sigh--
no human was driving!
At curves a hand reached in
and gave the wheel a spin.
In the back seat, trembling,
the man finally jumped out ...
ran from demons no doubt.
Ran to a bar. "Two beers!"
He sputters a story
of a hand quite gory.
In two guys walk, each leers:
"That's the creep who jumped in
when our car we're pushin'!"
The guy screamed in sheer fright,
ran out into the night,
and they laughed ... serves him right!
