Tell Mother Nature

I would like to confess to Mother Nature,
The deeply-held secret of my enduring love.
Whenever I come into her hallowed presence,
I feel instinctively the true blessing of a dove.
Tell her I cannot live without her endearing spell,
Arousing sacred emotions that in my heart dwell.

Oh sure, Lady Nature has her inscrutable ways;
Terror can often mar the perpetual flow of her days.
The earth sometimes shakes as if fraught with vigor,
While the farmer plows his land as industrious digger.
The darkness of Nature’s night has the capacity to scare,
With similar insistence she brings to fruition a ripening pear.

But nothing can compare in sparkle with her magic wand;
Wild swans float imperiously across the placid pond.
Departing cranes create glistening ripples across the water,
Who grooms thick fur in the marshland but the playful otter.
Nature expresses her emotions in a multitude of ways,
They always offer a gift without giving themselves away.
