WOLF DAWN
By John Herlihy
At first, the darkest dark night,
Eternal, everlasting in its might.
Evil has roamed free, most foul,
Under a splintered moon, a howl.
So strange and lonely, yet familiar,
Silence between sound, so similar.
When finally, night’s back is broken,
The first light turns into a first token.
Flickers of memory there in the mist,
Rebirth of all that was ever missed.
The pale light, faint and struggling,
Shadows move in stealth, fleeting.
Watching the veil of night be lifted,
Earth’s day with divine light gifted.
Winter chill feels brittle in the breeze,
Dawn light touch the peak with ease.
In the sky clouds stream as wolf tails,
The heavens hold mystery in its trails.
Moonlit mountains thru eternity sing,
Ancient secrets into the world bring.
The sun shines through earth’s grief,
There in the winter forest beneath.
The new day was not yet fully day,
Dawn still rising, never held at bay.
Morning light creeps in as a fawn,
The forest, witnessing wolf dawn.
Love ya!

What an incredible two lines, John! So much can be identifiable with these two wonderful lines. So much can be written, using them as a guide as you did yourself. Fantastic write.
This is a classic. Ed
