Talking to the Seagulls…
Today went walking on the beach,
While doing so I must be talking to the gulls,
Or maybe to the self, not sure on that, will have to mull…
Gave my seagull buddies half a loaf of bread,
They did pay me back by pooping on my head,
Glad I wore my hat, I was, there it hit, instead…
Not much to tell me they had,
Food was scarce, so they were sad,
But my food was a welcome change,
Brought gulls a flapping and cawing, from the furthest range,
They give me this feeling; it is quite strange,
Like maybe in another life, I may have been one of them,
But in this life I am in now, I have been rearranged…
Feel good do I, giving them bread,
Without food they may starve, yes they would be dead,
If I have food to give to the guys,
I will do so daily, no lies,
I have however found that they don’t like,
Fruit Loops & Cocoa Puffs, apparently cereal does not slide,
Down their gullet, therein they don’t like it or cannot at least, abide…

And these are some really smart gulls, who frown on junk food, and ask for hamburgers and french fries, instead!
The humans who toss them food (not you, of course) might learn a
lesson from them.
This poem let me walk the beach with the writer. I love these scenes,
and have painted them multitudes of times!
they flock around the McDonals in town...
