i love the sound of woodpeckers in the spring! in ohio, we'd see all kinds of woodpeckers..redheaded, downy, hairy, even pileated (those aer rare; we hardly saw those). wonderful haiku, ed!

they are hard to do...I took out a book at the
library on Haiku and I hated everyone in the book.

syllable count is 5 first line...7 second line...5 last line...
but I had heard there could be a variance on the numbers..
