She is my mother, my father and my family...

Poem Artwork

My Sea…

I am sorry as the sea does belong to me,

She has nurtured me like a mothers bosom,

She does give me an embrace each time we again each other see,

We both miss each other when we are apart,

I know I can to her return and she will welcome me with open heart…

Our love is eternal,

She does act as both paternal and maternal,

Enveloping me in her loving arms,

She has kept me safe and free of harm,

For her I would sell the farm,

And live on her beach within her reach…

She has given me many a scolding,

But never has she harmed me,

Her strength so upholding,

She has been there when I needed her,

As I have for her when she did beckon,

She does love me without question,

As I do for her, as she does relieve my depression…

She is very definitely MY SEA,

No one else can have her,

Though I cannot stop them trying,

They come to her for their own desires,

I go too her to feel nurtured and loved…

Sigh... dear Ed, you write with wisdom, gratitude, love and beauty, when you pen for the sea... it wraps around me, for as you know, I share your deeply felt fascination and genuine need for this supreme parent and her depths. There is so much heart in this piece... inspired! katy xox.

And she is your muse - you write about her very well.

I hope she always nurtures your heart and soul and pen, my friend.
