Her Depths

In her depths she does nurture life...

Her Depths…

Her depths do hold mysteries of the ancients,

Ships destroyed by storms and prehistoric creatures,

The same creatures that are hidden from mans view,

For if man did know of them, they would never be something new…

How deep the ocean is,

Deeper than is the land so wide,

Deeper than is the sky so high,

So little we know we treat her with fear,

For me, as long as I can keep her quite near…

She can destroy in an instant,

What man has taken centuries to build,

For me without my ocean, my mother, I would feel quite unfulfilled,

Within for me she has my dark thought stilled…

Her depths are as dark as outer space,

She is considered by some to be inner space,

To die in her depths would bring me no disgrace,

Or to live near her surface would show me of the gods, grace…
