To some scavengers, to others beauty...

Poem Artwork

O’er the waves he does glide,

Watching for food underwater that does by slide,

Watches man & his world as well,

He knows that man has from Gods grace fell…

He only does converse with his kind,

And this he does not in anyway mind,

All gulls are of a higher self than is man,

As he does, his brethren do what they can…

He knows of times past,

The gull will keep track of it till the last,

When man does of this earth give up his reign,

The seagull will muddle onward as the earth is as well his domain…

I think you know how I feel about your wonderful tribute
to the Gull. The world would be a lot quieter perhaps without
him, but also s lot lonelier. Long may he/she squawk. -gene.

They are clowns, angels and tormentors and I love them too, Ed! There is great wisdom in their eyes....they have laughed at me, scoffed me, and lifted my soul more times than I can count! Enjoyed this piece very much...

Damn good work here, Ed. I, too, am an admirer of gulls. I used to work offshore on a seismograph boat for many years and I never got tired of watching the antics of the gulls. Used to stand on the stern of the boat and throw scraps to them. They were always near the stern because of the shrimp and whatever the propellers would churn up from the deep.
