A Sou’easterly Storm Approaches…
A fearful accumulation,
Darkness billowing in from the Sou’east,
Swollen black with precipitation, they approach,
Fierce though they look,
They harbor no ill will…
Bringing with them a blanket,
A blanket of white,
Refreshing our souls,
Wetting our soles,
Snow, rain or ice,
None, for walking, really nice…
Have heard it said before,
Clouds crying, brings us rain,
But what of the snow?
Snow falling, the angels way to cry…
Snowfall is just starting here,
Not too much accumulation expected near,
But to the south and the east,
Closer to the beach, out of my reach today,
The kids will be celebrating, with school closed a day…
Will melt away, so fast, this week,
Temps up too high to freeze, even at night,
So enjoy it while you can, kids of the shore,
Could very well be your last snowfall this season, for sure…
