Peace and contentment draw me to the mountains every time. The high places seem to be where I find my healing and re-energize.

There's a soft wind filled whisper that drifts through the air Drawing my spirit up higher . . . . .come here Up to the heights where the mist lingers round Close to the clouds where eagles are found The mountains' fresh air that fills up my lungs Warmth that caresses my face in the sun Choirs of birds inspire me to climb Reaching for moments that turnaround time There are things in my life that would try and distract Stealing my peace and my calm and in fact. . . Holding me captive to the cares of this place But my heart longs to run to the heights to erase The high peaks and pines sing their soft serenades Drawing me up where the top is arrayed With trillium carpets where I'll take my repose The mountains are calling and I must go. . . . .
