WHAT’S UP?
What’s up with up?
A word that’s well used.
With so many ways to use up,
It’s easy to get confused.
You walk up a hill,
But you cook up a meal.
Being on the up and up,
Up gets used a great deal.
You wake up in the morning.
You fill up glasses and cups.
And if you’re up for exercising,
You do pushups and pull ups.
You can look up and hook up.
You can be brought up to date.
You can crack up and act up,
As you hurry up and wait.
You can show up and grow up.
You can gum up the gears.
A horse goes giddy up.
Old people are up in years.
You can hush up and brush up
You can do it up right.
You can clean up your act.
You can feel up tight.
You can mess up and fess up.
You can dress up like a star.
You can kick up your heels.
You can drive up in a car.
You can cheer up when it clears up,
After you stink up the room.
You can take up a collection,
And you sweep up with a broom.
You can break up then make up.
You can catch up with old friends.
You’ve got to be up and running,
To keep up with the latest trends.
You can sneak up and speak up.
You can open up the gate.
You need to rest up,
So you can stay up late.
Now before I end up in a tizzy,
I’m going to wrap this up.
How many ways can up be used?
I don’t know. I give up!
