Just a look inside my head.

 DELUSIONS & FANTASIES

 

My delusions and fantasies,

I know so very well.

They’re a major part of me,

And only I can tell.

 

I never know,

Where my brain is going to go,

And I haven’t the heart,

To tell myself “no”.

 

With an unbridled imagination,

And a mind free to roam,

I’m never where I am,

My mind is never home.

 

I’m in my own little world.

A place only for me

My delusions and fantasies,

Are the best I can be.

Ah a glimpse of the imaginative mind of Michael D. traveling around freely, collecting ideas for new poems and probably getting in trouble when the wife (or significant other) has been talking to you for several minutes before you realize it, and it sounds important, and you know should have been listening...

It's good to have your own place where you can escape from the mundane. As long as you can entertain yourself, and others, go for it!

Delusions and fantasies can be wonderful things, especially as you describe them here. Perhaps delusions less so, but give me a fantasy any day. Much of my writing is an exercise in fantasy. John
