Excellent poetic thoughts! One thing I learned in prison ministry that sometimes the hardest thing for prisoners to do is forgive themselves for a crime they committed and move on with life. It's hard to imagine not feeling comfortable and at peace with yourself when you are by yourself, especially at night. One mafia-hit-man once told me that he had everything but peace. Therefore he had nothing! There was always the feeling that someone was going to sneak up, tap him one the shoulder and tell him his life was history! No peace, no joy, no comfort and nowhere to hide from himself. Wow! What a way NOT to live!
