WORK LIKE A DOG You can work like a dog, And stay ahead of the pack. But beware of the straw, That broke the camel’s back. You can have ants in your pants, And chomp at the bit for days. But be careful of the rat race, You might get trapped in a maze. You can be an eager beaver, Or busy as bees. The early bird may get the worm, But the second mouse gets the cheese. Michael D. Wow! Now after reading your delightful poem I can better understand why the Japanese have conversational English schools. I taught in one school and there was confusion between eating a pear and seeing a pair of kings in a deck of cards. That's because in the Japanese language there is a different word for everything and no two sound or look alike. Now throw in some of our favorite sayings and that's enough for them to go crazy!
