A sneaker tale.

 MY NEW SHOES

I bought my new shoes from a drug dealer.

They look good and fit great.

But when it’s time to hit the road,

I’m having trouble going straight.

I got these shoes from a drug dealer,

And this is all I have to say.

I don’t know what he laced them with,

But I’ve been trippin’ all day.

Great write Michael. I have to agree with Sandie. I have too many friends who walked in the shoes that drug dealers sold them. Most are dead or in prison. I want to have my friends back but they drifted away on the wrong path. Now all I have is a distant memory. Sad story. It was a funny poem at first then after pondering the reality of life, it brought back those not so happy memories. That's Life my friend.

I wouldn't go around with a loose tongue or laces. Wouldn't want to get tied up in anything or tripping over any slippery tongues out there ;-).

Michael, I love the humor you add to your poems. This one is of no exception. However, the sad fact is that when one walks into the wrong path in trying to fit into a drug dealer's shoes, his/her life will go downhill from there.

Still, this is fun to read this poem. You always amaze me with your creativity.

Sandie
