CELL PHONE WIDOWER
I’m a cell phone widower,
I spend my time alone.
My wife is still alive,
But she’s always on her phone.
She’s always on her phone.
It’s never out of sight.
From the first thing in the morning,
Until the last thing at night.
She surfs the internet.
Spends hours to talk and text.
And because I’m a cell phone widower,
I’m not getting any sext.
If I try talking to her,
It’s like I’m not even there.
She’s glued to her cell phone,
With no attention to spare.
She catches up on Facebook,
Sending “likes” where she can.
She likes to follow celebrities,
She’s a cyberfan.
Her phone rings, pings, and dings.
It has all kinds of apps.
She’ll talk to Siri,
But for me she’s playing “taps.”

You managed to get in all the buzzwords into a simple and short little poem to the point. You have outlined the angst of many a man who has found his love of his life now estranged by technology, gripping her in a way that is far more powerful than loving attraction.
Woe to us, those who have spouses addicted to their particular technologies.

Love ya!
