The winds howl and puff Weak branches break off Leaves fall in their thousands Yellow, brown and orange hues From tree to tree in their glory emerge The rains pour like waterfalls It's getting colder by the day Days are getting shorter Shorter as Mr Winter peeps just around the corner Black and burgundy hair dyes a major spectacle On most of the fashionistas heads Dress up warm people Orange and brown clothing, trending this time AUTUMN - a wonderful season of the year!

Autumn is such a special time in the earth's cycle.
Nature celebrates her charm with colors and shades and
magic in the air just before ending it for winter's stillness.
Few have captured this transition as well as you have, Mary.

...gorgeous nature's scene...every place's
inspiring when our Mother Nature is the
poetic key...any time of the year...but with
English Country beauty...no season of the year
...sounds better. Wonderful verse!

What wonderful warm poetic style you are developing here! You made me see, feel and hear the change of seasons; you made me smile. I lived in England for three years of my life. What the cold weather does not show is the warmth of people, like you Mary, whom I've come to know.

I love autumn and miss it because we get very little here. I am struck by the reference to fall fashion. I find that chasing fashion is a rather strange and selfish act with only the purpose of selling more merchandise, something that most people don't need.

Couldn't agree more, Mary. Although down here in this southern swamp we don't get much of the beautiful, colorful leaves, and the winters aren't as bad as in many places, but autumn is still my favorite time of the yer. Loved the poem.
