In memory of all our US service men and women. Thank you for fighting for my freedom. God Bless

 A Soldier Marches On

Boots on the ground of a
foreign land,
a soldier marches with his
gun in hand.
Over the mountains
to the valley below,
defending his country
through every plateau.
Fearing not death
his boots march on
risking his life from dusk
until dawn.
No time to rest
when enemies wait,
future uncertain with
each step he takes.
Across the oceans
loved ones are yearning
keeping the home fires
faithfully burning.
Most will return but
for those who do not,
that gave their lives
for the battles they fought.
Let us take comfort though
in this life they're gone,
in heaven a soldier marches on.

Yes...bless each and every one...however a world without war like my countryman John Lennon envisaged must be the ideal...

A well written eulogy for those soldiers who fight our wars and never return.

We should all honor and respect each and every soldier that ever put those boots on the ground.
