I compare seeing Aurorae to seeing a movie star (keeping in line with the Golden Globes theme LOL). :-) Personally, I'd rather see Aurorae. :)
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Be on the lookout. Aurorae may be dancing overhead tonight. ~ There are some rumors She may be coming to town Later this evening. ~ There's also that chance That what I had heard is false. Only conjecture. ~ But the excitement! What if she really showed up? Wouldn't that be cool? ~ I'm going to go. What's the worst that could happen? So she doesn't show. ~ But if she does--WOW! I can say that I saw her! She rarely comes here. ~ Will the curtains part? Will she make an appearance On a red carpet? ~ Will her dress be green? Or will she be wearing white? One way to find out! ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ (C) Copy written, 16 January, 2005, by Karla Dorman. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ According to Spaceweather.com, two Coronal Mass Ejections, or CME's, exploded from the sun's surface. One yesterday, one today.
Basically, a CME is hot gas (over one million degrees Centigrade) that is ejected from the sun's outer atmosphere, called the Corona.
CME's are thought to be the cause behind the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) and Aurora Australis (Southern Lights).
Depending on your location, the more severe the CME, the further south Aurorae will be seen. Texas, where I live, is considered "low altitude." If Spaceweather.com issues an Aurora Alert for low altitudes, I'll know to go outside and look up if it is clear.
The gas, spewed out as solar particles, can severely influence the Earth's geomagnetic activity. Extremely violent explosions can seriously disrupt radio, satallite and television communication systems and can even cause power outages.
The Skywatcher will be watching. :-) Strong Aurorae are likely, says Spaceweather.com, tonight AND tomorrow night. Hopefully, she will dance overhead in my area! I won't know unless I go outside and LOOK UP! :-)

Lucky ducky!! I have never even seen her!! And it's tipping it down with rain here, which is probably why I have seldom even thought to look... great metaphor, Karla... and you never know... she may even SMILE directly at you!! Wahoo! LOL Kate xx
I always excitedly anticipate and look for this epic star's arrival when I venture to the northland - and she's made a guest appearance numerous times - but I sure wish I could get her autograph - that would be something!

Now THIS is cool! :) Personally, I'd rather see Aurora rather than any old movie or music star (with the exception of, well, let's say Loretta Lynn LOL). :) Your writing is soaring--keep it going!

HaHaHa, Karla these are great fun! Yanno, I think the National Enquirer is looking for new headline writers, you might want to apply. ;~)
Take care,
