too wet, too dry, too hot, too cold too stormy, ongoing drought it's either feast or famine too much or not enough a state of extremes across the lone star state
bad weather years increase the fear
don't know what it's freakin' going to do from one moment to the next they say it won't go severe until the next bulletin warns us to take cover
you better hide best stay inside
sometimes, you have four seasons in one day - i've seen it you think you're going to have a nice spring day, the next thing you know, a blue norther comes in with severe thunderstorms
with hail and snow nowhere to go
they don't believe in basements around these parts they say to get into a small, interior room, put as many walls between you and the storm and then your place blows away
it's off to oz without a pause
tornadoes ravage the land hurricanes floods d i s a s t e r upon disaster at least there are no tsunamis or earthquakes ... i don't think
that's all we'd need eNOUGH, we plead
and now texas is burning up fires color the sky in flaming red makes for brilliant sunsets but tell that to the ones who've lost everything to go look at the sun
when will it end don't comprehend
is god mad at us not just us but the U. S. and the world in general war in the land and in the heavens the sky is ripped asunder and the ground shakes underfoot
god i'm so scared please hear my prayer

Wonderful septcouplet, Karla, you seem to take to this form pretty darn good. Thanks for trying it out every so often. Yep, I was just talking to Dottering Dottie (said lovingly) not thirty minutes ago that the world's weather is gone nuts. Now this from you. Good.
weather is a reflective condition of the collective consciousness ... the world is in turmoil and so is its weather ... we just have to appreciate those moments of calm and peace and ohpe they have a lasting effect on nature's make-up ...
Oh, take a valium, will ya, you moved to Texas and now know full well what weather is expected each spring...I understand fear, but if you just could find how thoroughly exhillarating storms can be, maybe you and Nature could work something out from there...Ed
Stay safe you two. The Yellow Rose of Texas will bloom soon. Spring is near. Panhandle named for good reason. Pick a cast-iron skillet up by the handle in any season! Feel the Burn!
AWESOME!!! I feel the fear and the hairs upon my arms stand. I praise your work here. It is nature and it is human terror and anxiety for not knowing what the morning will bring.
God bless you all in Texas. You are in my prayers.
Love and peace,
Susan
It is enough to frustrate even the most seasoned meteorologist or Texan. Scary state in which to live when the weather goes severe! Very well done, angst-filled write; brava! Love the picture; it perfectly compliments the poem! That last two stanzas are particularly effective!

I heard North Texas is in utter flames with the bush fires, and that 10 people have perished in the inferno already....God Bless their souls....
It sounds like Texas is getting it in the neck these days !
You take care, my prayers go with you and Karen !

Excellent writing Karla. Do more of it to keep your mind busy!
Sometimes fear is a good thing if it makes us aware of something we need to be careful about. However, uncontrolled fear does not help in dire situations, but only makes them worse. We can't do our best thinking, at the very moment we need it most. So Karla, take control of your fear , and if you truly have faith, you'll let God handle the situation. Your fear can't change it anyway. Get your mind fixed on something else. There may be a lot worse to come and being able to stay in control is the key to making right choices. You both are in my thoughts and prayers!
Explore the mystery of how nature makes unexpected gifts of creative wonders to an unsuspecting caregiver one late night and early morning in southeastern Georgia, USA.
